Northern NSW HOGs ride in

for Westpac rescue chopper

Tuesday 22nd June 2010

They are waiting, always ready ...

   ...   in case they're needed ......

..... and there are so many good reasons why you should always be ready ......

to support the

Flying Sentinels

(no no, Fitz, not you -

they are the sentinels)

........ the Westpac helicopter rescue service.

That's why a small group representing our chapter rode into the Westpac rescue helicopter base

in Lismore this morning.

Pictured above and left whilst riding in

are (L to R) Wazza, Fitz, Mel (pillion) and Shippa

The Club has almost a tradition of supporting the Westpac chopper, and today we presented the service with a cheque for $1000 from our fundraisers as part of this support.

Shown above is Mel Brown (centre) presenting the cheque on behalf of the Club to the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter's Media & Marketing Officer Graham Orams (left), whilst Mike, Wazza, Fitz, Neil and Shippa look on.

Left: Club Assistant Director John (Shippa) Hoye with

Chief pilot  Lynton Beggs (seated on Shippa's Harley) and pilot Tom Hulse.

Below: Lynton and Tom with Mike, Mel, Fitz and Wazza with a jubilant John.

And Shippa (John Hoye) has every right to feel jubilant, too.

Lynton and Tom were the pilots who flew John to Hospital after a serious heart attack in November, 2009.

As bike riders we know full well that there is always uncertainty around the corner.

And that's why over the years we have supported the service and will continue to do so.
